Ohhhh, Check the Amount of Posting!!

In the spirit of posting more, I have decided to write a rather pointless post! My parents have buggered off to Venice for the week to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, so I am currently all on my lonesome at home. Even my dog isn't here! Because I am working 8 til 4:30 and I don't have time to get home at lunch he has had to go into a kennel until Friday afternoon.

It is amazing just how empty the house feels with nobody around. I'm used to my parents going down to their caravan for the weekend every now and then, but then it's only from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon, so it's not really that long! Coming home from work and having nobody to tell stories too is a bit annoying!
Plus neither of the girls I have text are playing ball and keeping me entertained, so I'm very disappointed!

Right, anyway. Not much going on at the moment. I have planned to go to Lufbra next weekend so that should be good. I also quite randomly got an email from a Aerodynamics bloke at Renault F1 today asking me if I wanted to play hockey tomorrow night. Odd since I have never met the guy, but my name was forwarded to him by someone I play hockey with. I have decided I will play, it's only 5-a-side, but I could do with the exercise and the entertainment!!!

That's about it really, only been reading websites and playing on my Xbox in the last few days so nothing interesting to talk about. Except that the Edmonton Oilers, an NHL Ice Hockey team, have become the first team in history to make it through the the Stanley Cup final as a number 8 seed (the lowest you can be ranked and still qualify for the Playoffs) Quite an impressive achievement! Also Vernon Wells hit 3 Home Runs in one game for the Toronto Blue-Jays last night which is also very impressive. Every ball he hit went for a home run! I would like to be able just to hit a baseball at the speeds they are pitched!!!

Right, enough of that, I'm off to watch Enemy of the State on DVD. Gotta love a bit of Will Smith!

Flamboyant Flamingos

What a great little phrase! Bares absolutely no relevance to anything, but it still makes me smile!
Anyway, I just had a look at my blog and realised that it has been 4 months exactly since I last posted on here! Oh lordy how I have neglected this place. I think from now on I may just try and post regularly, even if it is completely random and meaningless stuff!

So in an attempt at a quick recap of my life for the uninformed, I have developed this cunning system of dots! After each dot will be something that I have done! I'm thinking of naming the system the 'Black holes of doom and despair' points. An better suggestions, write the on a post card!

And so, the quick recap!

  • Changed jobs to a place called Oxford Instruments, moving crap around! Really brain intensive! Been there 9 weeks now.

  • Finished hockey season without bad injuries (ignoring my knee) Finished 2nd in the league and got promoted. Got a mention at the clubs dinner and dance under the name 'Dave'. Then copped off with the Ladies 2nd team captain, who amusingly happens to be a cop! Oh the hilarity!

  • Went to Silverstone to watch the FIA GT Supercars which was most entertaining, especially since there were many Dodge Vipers, as shown below!!!

  • Had an MRI scan on my knee, and the conclusion is, I don't have a very good knee! I'm now waiting for a surgical consultation to see what I can do next, although surgery seems inevitable sometime, just about when!

I also had to endure the horror of watching the demise of Oxford United into the Conference, which included going to Wrexham to see the 2nd last game of the season, and the painstaking final game of the season. Surprisingly things seem amazingly upbeat around to club currently, with a new chairman in charge who actually supports the club and seems to have a good idea of what needs to be done. It is a refreshing experience to read good news in the Oxford Mail every few days!

On another sporting note, I have also applied for work experience at the BBC, or more specifically at BBC Radio Oxford. The idea is that you do unpaid part time work during the summer in the sports department, and write sports report for the internet. I have applied in the hope that it may give me some valuable extra knowledge of sport that could help me in whatever direction I decide to go with life once I finish cocking around!!!

Right, that seems as good a point as any to leave it for now. I'm sure there are other things that have happened, but they can be told another time if I can be bothered!

As for this blog, I imagine I will be trying to keep it reasonably up-to-date, whether it is writing about me, sport or something funny I have seen!

Laters for now.
